Easy Belts Review

Little Man has always been quite independent as he loves to do everything his big brothers do. Being that bit younger he can find some things more difficult. He likes to get dressed on his own and can manage most outfits without any problem. However he gets quite frustrated when he is wearing a belt as he can’t fasten it or undo it without help. When Easy Belts got in touch to offer me one of their belts I was interested to see how Little Man would get on with it.

Easy Belts have a velcro fastening which make it easier for young children and also for people with disabilities to use. When Little Man first saw the belt he was delighted with the rocket ship motifs on it and couldn’t wait to try it on. I held it the right way up for him and he was able to put it through the belt loops on his trousers, loop it throught the D-ring and fasten it without any problems. He was so pleased. Little Man now asks to wear his belt every day and is a bit disappointed when his trousers don’t require a belt!

Easy Belts come in a variety of sizes from Toddler through to Adult. The belts are elasticated for comfort and adjustable to allow for growth. There is a choice of 2 D-ring sizes, regular and large for those with limited hand coordination. There are various colours and designs to choose from icluding a school range. Easy Belts are priced at £6 for toddler belts and £7 for children’s belts.

Kidloland Nursery Rhymes App Review

With three big brothers it was inevitable that Little Miss would want to play with the tablet. I have occasionally allowed her to watch CBeebies on it and she was happy with that. However recently she has been asking to play games on it like her brothers do. I had no idea what kind of apps could offer games that were easy enough for a 2 year old to play and would also hold her interest. When Kidloland got in touch I was interested to see if the Kidloland Nursery Rhymes App was the kind of app I was looking for.

Kidloland Nursery Rhymes App Review

The Kidloland App is designed for 0-5 year olds and has over 1000 Nursery Rhymes, Songs, Stories, Activities and Games. The Nursery Rhymes have the words at the bottom of the screen to sing along which is helpful as there were a few rhymes I was unfamiliar with!  There are lots of Little Miss’ favourites but she has also learned some new ones. The videos are interactive with surprises coming alive when you tap the screen. We are still discovering new surprises after a few weeks of using the app! The songs can be downloaded to be played offline which is perfect for keeping children entertained on long journeys. There is also a Playlist feature for up to 25 songs so you can play the child’s favourites easily.

Kidloland Review

There are over 300 Games and Activities which help children to learn and develop skills such as sequencing, picture and number comprehension and problem solving. Little Miss has enjoyed playing the games that involve colours and shapes.

Kidloland App

Little Miss has had lots of fun playing the App. In the first few days of using it she needed a lot of help but she is now able to play a lot of them on her own and can navigate the different activities to find the one she wants. She loves playing the games, especially ‘The Busy Bee’ and ‘Train Adventures’. In ‘The Busy Bee’ the bee flies through a door into the hive to find a game. There are several doors each with a different game. Some of them include watering plants to make them grow, matching shapes, colouring, popping honeycomb and dressing the bee.

In ‘Train Adventures’ the train travels along the track and stops at various activities which include animal puzzles, join the dots and feeding the animals. These activities have really helped with Little Miss’ animal recognition. There is also a section on animal sounds that she loves!

Little Man who is 4 has also had hours of fun with Kidloland. He is currently learning the letter sounds and loves doing his Letter of the Week work. The Phonics section of the app has games and songs for each letter of the alphabet. This is perfect for reinforcing his learning in a fun way. He also enjoys the Dinosaur songs and the Vehicle section. Little Man and Little Miss also like to play the app together which is lovely to watch.

There are still parts of the app we are yet to explore as there is so much in it. Little Miss was delighted today when she discovered one of her favourite songs, ‘Wheels on the Bus’ on the App. There are even some Christmas songs although I think we will wait a few weeks before downloading them!

The Kidloland App can be downloaded on iOS, Google Play and Amazon appstore. It is free to download and has a few free songs, but a subscription will give you full access to all of the content.

Meaty Pasta Bake Recipe (Slimming World Friendly)

This Meaty Pasta Bake is one of our favourite Slimming World Friendly recipes and the children love it too. It is easy to make and only takes half an hour. Perfect for a quick midweek dinner!

We use Fusili Pasta but Penne would be good too. You can use more or less than 300g on mince depending on how much meat you like. This serves 2 adults and 4 children in our house but will easily serve four adults. If you are feeding less than this you could save the leftovers for lunch the next day. This Meaty Pasta Bake is Syn free without the cheese.
